Dcn. Tim & Lisa Wise
Couple Name: Deacon Tim & Lisa Wise
This year we will celebrate our 35th anniversary. We were married in the Episcopal Church. Ask Tim to tell you the story of how he put out the unity candle at their wedding, and ask Lisa about the limo ride from the church to the reception! Tim converted to become Catholic 20 years ago, and we had our marriage convalidated and blessed in the Catholic Church then. We are the parents of 3 adult children: Joshua, Sarah, and Rachel, along with 2 by marriage – Joy (Joshua) and Hayden (Sarah). We are also proud grandparents of Milo (Sarah & Hayden) and Ben (Joshua & Joy). All of our family lives in the KC metro today. Tim was ordained a deacon for the Kansas City in Kansas Archdiocese in June 2024 and was assigned to serve at St. Paul. He also serves the young adult community as a deacon through City on a Hill.
Where were you and your spouse born? (City/State):
Lisa was born in Farmington, CT and moved to St. Petersburg, FL when she was 7 years old. She was raised in a strong Catholic family. She was the youngest of 4 kids.

How did you meet?
We wish the story was a bit more interesting and inspiring, but we met at a Pizza Hut (and bowling alley) in Parkersburg, WV, when both of us were young engineers for DuPont. Lisa was a better bowler than Tim – lol! And, she instantly caught his eye!

How long have you been parishioners at St. Paul? What do you enjoy most about this parish, and what improvements would you like to see?
We have been parishioners at St. Paul for about 5 years. We love the diverse parish community, the excitement of being in a thriving and growing church community, the many ministries offered by our parish, and the things we do to serve our community. We are excited to be a part of strengthening marriage ministry at St. Paul, and we believe one of the things we can do to help our parish continue to grow and thrive is through offering more opportunities to enrich marriage and family life so that our homes may act as a domestic church.
Are you currently involved in any ministry at St. Paul? (We strive for our engaged couples to identify you when attending mass and/or parish events.)

Never think of marriage as a 50/50 relationship.
There is no higher calling than to be a husband/wife and mother/father.
