Preschool through 6th Grade

Sunday Program
8:40 - 9:50am

This is a traditional in-person classroom model which relies on a team of trained catechists and volunteers. The following options are provided for the specific grade levels listed below:

  • Ages 3-4 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

  • Kindergarten

  • Grades 1-2 (Year I and Year II sacramental preparation for First Communion) 

  • Grades 3-6 (already received First Communion)

Tuesday Family Program
6:00 - 7:00pm (English) or
7:30 - 8:30pm (Bilingual)

This is an intergenerational catechesis model, also referred to as whole community catechesis, invites parishioners of all ages (parent(s) with child) to learn about their faith together. The following options are providing for the specific grade levels listed below:

  • Ages 3-5 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

  • Grades 1-6 (Year I and Year II sacramental preparation for First Communion) NOTE: Preparation for first communion is a two-year process.

  • Grades 3-6 (already received First Communion)

Sunday RCIC/RCC Program
Grades 1-12
11:00am - 12:15pm

The “Rite of Christian Initiation for Children” (RCIC) is for ages 7-17 who have not received any formal religious education or who have not been baptized. The following options are provided for the specific grade levels listed below:

  • Grades 1-12 who require both Baptism and First Communion

  • Grades 7-12 who are baptized in the Catholic Faith but require both First Communion AND Confirmation.

Sunday 7:00 - 8:30pm

Only grade 7-8 teens (Year I and II) who require only the sacrament of Confirmation (no other sacraments).

Only grade 9-12 teens (Year I and II) who require only the sacrament of Confirmation (no other sacraments).

Wednesday Confirmation
Grades 7-8 or Grades 9-12
Wednesday 7:00 - 8:30pm

Only grade 7-8 teens (Year I and II) who require only the sacrament of Confirmation (no other sacraments).

Preparing for Confirmation

Preparation for confirmation is a two-year process. Year I will focus on prayer and discernment of the sacrament, and Year II will focus on preparation for receiving the sacrament. Parent(s) of teens who are registered in Year II are required to attend a monthly session with their son/daughter.
