Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC), also known as Children’s Catechumenate, is a process designed to prepare children, who have reached the age of seven, and their families for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). If your child has been baptized in another Christian Church, we will not baptize her/him again, but will welcome her/him into the Catholic Church with a Profession of Faith.
HOW DO I ENROLL MY CHILD?
New families in any Religious Education Program, who were not Baptized at St. Paul Parish, must turn-in a copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate to enroll. In the event that you do not have the certificate, a copy must be obtained from the child’s church of Baptism.
All returning families will need to enroll your children again and pay for the new year. Class sizes are limited and enrollment is based on first come first served.
The cost for the program is as follows:
1 child $80.00
2 children $135.00
3 or more children $155.00
In Addition, a $40 Sacramental fee will be assessed for each student in Year II formation. If the student needs preparation for 1st Reconciliation, 1st Communion or RCIC formation, this fee covers additional materials and supplies.
We encourage parents to volunteer for the program as a catechist, aide or substitute catechist. We depend on volunteers to make our program successful. Training is available and a discount may be awarded. Ask about details at the time of enrollment.
